Mio C620 Complete Test
They are now the first GPS with 3D. A much-awaited model, which already mark the short history of navigation by GPS. But out of its packaging, GPS history leaves us somewhat dubious. Plastic hard and finish on this high end is certainly rather aesthetic but not breathing really quality.
Once turned on, the focus is naturally on its mapping. The terrain is actually represented in 3 dimensions, but at least to move in the mountains and in
Steep places, it has not really an opportunity to point out that the modeling field. Moreover representation pixellise sometimes. It’s finally a small detail of the 3D view that makes all the difference in the guidance: the representation of different levels between the streets. Because of this, we can understand at a glance whether it will be necessary to pass under a bridge or on, practical approach to road interchanges. The monuments of the major cities have also been passed in 3D and the result is an impressive reality. Their presence does not have a fundamental interest, but we must admit that they make browsing more enjoyable.
Redesigned Interface
With the C620, Mio also inaugurates a new interface, MioMap 2008.On will notice the appearance of an indicator way forward and a navigation menu rethought. While browsing, a comprehensive menu can be held indeed on the right side of the screen, among other things it allows to choose the music playing or make a phone call using Bluetooth. Very useful when driving.
No problem even after an exit route, the C620 recalculates instantly re-route. A speed can be found in the menus. During our tests the software was never caught. An intuitive interface, a guidance impeccable, we wonder if this finally Mio C620 does détrônerait not the TomTom GO 720, designated its competitor. In fact, it is difficult to decide between these two heavyweights of navigation, each with its own specific characteristics. The TomTom is more complete in terms of features and more pleasant to look, while the Mio is well above in terms of navigation. It is therefore up to you.
