Over time, the G series of Canon PowerShot is a range in the range. Appliances whose features make it a complete appliances pocket professionals or a choice to have pushed without manual switch to the Reflex.

The G7 is still excellent. The G9 is a clone who does not lose anything, but-with the exception of RAW-adds nothing more. The transition from 10 to 12 megapixels nevertheless accompanied by a slight increase in the size of the sensor.

For the rest, nothing moves is strictly speaking the same device that the G7 of size and functionality. With its 10.6 x 7.2 x 4.3 cm to 350 g, G9 off a feeling of robustness. A sense amplified by the body metal. For a bridge, the G9 is compact. Its dimensions, however, prevents slip in a pocket.

For good points, the G9 is a bridge which gives full control to the user. Priority for opening, the speed, manual focus, white balance, manual-you have it all. The everything completed by command buttons thoughtful and very enjoyable to use (Dial selection on the top navigation pad with rotary knob on the back). The functionality and stability in optical detection or face no shortage of the call. By contrast, there will be no major angle there! The range starts at 35 mm to finish at 210 mm. We must go through additional optics to reach the 26 mm or 420 mm. The ring surrounding the objective is to welcome twist.

The image quality is excellent! No bad surprise at this level. The processor image processing Digic III seems to operate at full. The colors are accurate, the details present and almost no noise for reasonable sensitivities up to 400 ISO. In addition, it appears to be finally notable beyond ISO 800. The white balance also works quite well, one only has to use the proper balance.

Accuracy finals, with a sensor 12 million pixels, remember to take a big memory card.
